CardTalking (formerly known as Blossoming) is a visual support tool designed for children with autism, offering features such as the First-Then Board, Visual Schedule, Visual Instruction, Reinforcer Choice Board, and PECS Board. Parents and teachers can create customized courseware tailored to the child's specific needs. The app comes with numerous pre-built cards and courseware examples that can be expanded indefinitely by users. Card sharing is facilitated through a simple registration/login process.

Key features and user guidelines:

1. This app is exclusively available for iPad/iPhone and will not be developed for other platforms.
2. The main page is child-focused, displaying only the courseware that is currently in use.
3. Access settings by shaking the iPhone/iPad or triple-clicking the screen with three fingers. A brief confirmation question precedes accessing the settings to prevent accidental usage by children.
4. All cards feature original content. Courseware is intended for specialized training purposes, with the cards within courseware sourced from the available materials.
5. The app offers five types of courseware: PECS Board, First-Then Board, Visual Schedule, Visual Instruction, and Reinforcer Choice Board.
PECS Board focuses on language training, involving dragging or pressing cards before checking them off. It is recommended to read the PECS introduction provided within the app before utilizing this feature. The First-Then Board illustrates a sequential approach ('first xxx, then xxx') to guide children through tasks or activities. Visual Schedule outlines daily routines or step-by-step processes such as handwashing instructions. Visual Instruction presents a card along with a corresponding command to the child. Reinforcer Choice Board allows children to select a reward as part of Discrete Trial Training (DTT).
6. The frequency of card usage in PECS can be customized; cards set to 'No Limit' return to the box after confirmation, while those set to 'Daily' are limited to once per day, aiding in snack or game management.
7. Parents and teachers have the option to choose between 'Drag' and 'Press' operation modes for PECS courseware, altering how cards are interacted with by the child.
8. Customizable layouts are available for certain coursewares in dimensions of 1x1, 2x2, 3x3, or 3x5. Blank cards can be inserted as needed.
9. Teachers can create distinct courseware sets for individual children, easily managing visible and hidden courses through a user-friendly interface.
10. User-created cards can be managed within the app settings, enabling customization and categorization of cards as well as the ability to capture new images through photo integration.
11. Sharing created content is encouraged, although built-in cards have been sourced from publicly available online resources.
12. User-added courseware and cards are stored locally on the device; therefore, it is advisable not to uninstall the app to prevent data loss.
